bedroom and playroom 1:12 scale

The book series Jip and Janneke were written by Annie M.G. Schmidt (1911-1995) and illustrated by Fiep Westendorp (1916-2004)
In this roombox the twins Dinie and Gijs enjoy their new room with the "Jip & janneke" theme.

In the J & J stories the safety of the home environment has a central place. I have tried to show that in this cosy room. Behind the bed I made a poster of a painting (acryl paint)and when they roll the bed a bit they have a nice play area. The upperbed is the balcony of the "house" with "windows".

Other figures in the books are: Janneke's doll "Poppejans", "Beer", Jip's stuffed toy; "Takkie" the dog and "Siepie" the cat.

The beds have sheets that I made of full size Jip and Janneke's baby clothes.

wall painting from a scan I made of one of my paintings. The front of the bed is a garden gate.
One of the themes in the books is "Jip en Janneke altijd samen" meaning Jip and Janneke always together. so I made these letters on the upper bed!
